Charities 'missing a trick' on direct debits

The playing field is NOT level.  Anyone who says it is - ignore them!  Small charities have struggles that larger ones have long since dealt with, if they ever had them at all.  So all the more reason surely for small charities to get the basics right and make sure they offer options for the most fruitful forms of giving - clearly visible and prominent - on their websites?

One of the best things a charity can do is make setting up a regular gift as easy as humanly possible - whether by direct debit or recurring credit card charge.  Yet many small charities still only offer standing order form downloads on their websites - at best.  More than a third of charities surveyed did not offer regular giving signup options on their websites.
